Greater Flexibility and Improved Performance for Pumping Test and Slug Test Data Analysis
AquiferTest Pro* v.2010.1 is loaded with new features that make it easier for you to analyze time-drawdown data, generate more accurate and reliable results, and expand your pumping test and slug test applications to new well geometry and field conditions. Update your version of AquiferTest Pro and receive the following benefits:
1: Results from benchmark testing using the automatic fit with 1000 iterations and tolerance 1.0E-8 Instantly and Remotely Access your Groundwater Data Diver-DCX Release
Traditional groundwater monitoring networks require datalogger data to be manually retrieved at the well site using cables or within close vicinity using short-range wireless systems. These configurations are labor-intensive, and incapable of providing data “on-demand” when critical and immediate decisions are necessary. With the release of Diver-DCX*, groundwater data can now be transmitted globally through a SDI-12 compatible telemetry system, giving groundwater suppliers instant access to barometric compensated water levels with the click of a button. The result is significant cost and time savings over manual data collection. Learn more

Substantial Dewatering of an Open Pit Mine
Robinson Mine, Nevada
The south wall of the Ruth Pit expansion at the Robinson Mine in Nevada has the potential to produce considerable groundwater flows. Schlumberger Water Services was selected to conduct a hydrogeologic characterization of the groundwater system, design and implement a full scale dewatering and discharge system, protect the local potable water supply, and more. To learn about Schlumberger Water Services contribution to this project, read the case study at water.slb.com. Aquifer Storage and Recovery: Developing Sustainable Water Supplies “The advantages of Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) are compelling. Large volumes of water can be stored underground at a fraction of the cost of other storage options, such as aboveground storage tanks and surface reservoirs. ASR systems also do not experience the evaporative losses of surface water reservoirs, have minimal surface footprints and land requirements, and are less vulnerable to intentional and unintentional contamination from surface activities. “However, ASR is not a panacea for water resource management. ASR systems do not work everywhere and vary in their hydrologic benefits. In addition, ASR may have regulatory and operational challenges, which reduce usefulness and economic value to system owners and operators.” Read more. New book helps industry assure a long-term supply of water The book Aquifer Storage and Recovery and Managed Aquifer Recharge Using Wells: Planning, Hydrogeology, Design, and Operation provides an overview of ASR and MAR technologies that use wells to recharge aquifers. It addresses the key issues of project planning, aquifer characterization, well design, system operation, and source-water quality and pretreatment. The lessons learned from existing ASR systems are presented to provide guidance for successful future implementation of the technologies. Book on “best available technology” for Membrane Water Treatment Facilities Wins Award The book entitled Water Supply Development, Aquifer Storage, and Concentrate Disposal for Membrane Water Treatment Facilities has won the 2009-2010 Distinguished Technical Communication award in the International Technical Publications Competition category from the Society of Technical Communication. This book addresses methods to develop raw water supplies that have constant water chemistry and to reduce the concentrations of potential foulants that cause pretreatment processes to be added to the plant design. Evaluation and design of water supplies for all membrane processes using both surface-water sources and groundwater sources are covered. AquaChem - Plotting Station Data in Google Earth™ Please note: KML format requires station locations in geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). If your station coordinates are currently expressed in a projected coordinates system (e.g., UTM), you must convert them to geographic coordinates. To export data to the KML format, select File > Export > KML File from the main menu. The Export to KML File dialog will appear on your screen.
The Export to KML file dialog consists of three tabs: Data, Options, Preview Data Select the [...] button located beside the Filename field and specify the desired destination folder and file name for the KML file. Use the Options The Options tab provides export options for displaying data in Google Earth. Choose the desired station symbology from the Map Symbol combo box and specify the Symbol Size.
Preview (read only) The Preview tab provides a preview of the data that will be exported to the KML file.
Once you have selected your parameters, and set your options, click the Export button to generate the KML file. Upon exporting, you will be prompted to open the file in Google Earth™. Click the Yes button to open the KML file.
The file can also be imported into manually into Google Earth™ by selecting File > Open from the Google Earth™ main menu.

See what people say about SWS: “I have utilized Hydro GeoBuilder for two different projects. I am liking Hydro GeoBuilder because of its dual functionality (i.e. creating both Finite Difference and Finite Element meshes). It was easy to maneuver through the GUI. It is really nice to be able to build the conceptual model in 3D and then import it into the groundwater flow model. It makes modeling so much easier. Great job SWS!” “Thanks for the excellent service. I am very pleased with the assistance received. Following the instructions given the project opened with out any problems.” “Loved the training and software! I will be recommending it to my boss. I only wish I had it sooner.” “The uninstall/re-install was successful in remediating the problem. We appreciate the prompt response and support. Thank you.” |
