Diver-Pocket

Diver-Pocket is the field tool to:

  • download Diver data,
  • read and program Diver settings, and
  • start and stop Divers

Program and download dataloggers in the field

Diver-Pocket is a software package that can be used on a rugged Pocket-PC for programming Divers, reading stored measurements in the field.

  • Start/Stop/Read/Program Divers
  • Calibrate CTD-Divers
  • Export monitoring data to CSV (Excel)
  • Units: metric - imperial
  • Available in 3 languages: English - Spanish - Dutch

What's new in Diver-Pocket 2011.1

  • The name Diver-Pocket Manager changed to Diver-Pocket Premium
  • The name Diver-Pocket Reader changed to Diver-Pocket
  • There is a new application icon
  • Fixed error in exporting MON-files of CTD-Diver (DI27x)
  • Diver-Pocket no longer supports the DXD/DXT for wireless communication

Two variants

Diver-Pocket is available in two variants, namely:

  • Diver-Pocket: This variant only allows you to read data; Divers cannot be stopped, calibrated or programmed.
  • Diver-Pocket Premium: In addition to being able to read data, this variant also includes the Diver programming facility which allows you to calibrate CTD-Divers, start and stop Divers, define pumping test, etc.

Features

Reading and Programming Divers

Use Diver-Pocket for reading and viewing Diver data. Diver-Pocket Premium allows you to adjust critical settings: monitoring point, sample method, sample interval, and altitude.

Monitoring Points - Assign unique names for each Diver monitoring point. The Diver monitoring point works as an identifier used as part of the filename for exporting data

Sample method and sample interval

  • Fixed – The Diver takes and stores samples in regular time intervals
  • Event Based – The Diver compares each sample to the last stored sample and only stores the new sample if a user defined threshold is exceeded
  • Predefined Pumping Tests – Diver-Office includes three convenient predefined pumping tests for Divers that support this feature, e.g., TD-Diver, Cera-Diver and Micro-Diver
  • User Defined Pumping Tests (Cera-Diver, Micro-Diver, CTD-Diver DI27x only) – If none of the predefined pumping tests are suitable, you can define and select your own customized pumping test sampling method
  • Averaging (Cera-Diver, Micro-Diver, and CTD-Diver DI27x only) – The Diver takes a user defined number of samples and stores the average value

Altitude

For selected TD- and CTD-Divers (older) models only. You can enter a value for the altitude above sea level of the location of the Diver within the range of -300 m to 3,000 m (-984 ft to 9,842 ft).

Note: Current Diver models automatically adjust for altitude ranging from -300 m to 5,000 m (-984 ft to 16,404 ft).

Smart future start (SFS)

The SFS option is a useful tool in situations where you want to stop the Diver, download its data, and then continue collecting data at the specified sample interval. This option allows you to download data in continuous segments, while maintaining a consistent sample interval and reducing download time.

Managing Diver Data

Every Diver download is saved to the database as a time series and backup of the data is stored on the PocketPC. View a plot of the time series you just downloaded on your PocketPC. Select one or several time series and export the time series to the desired format (CSV or MON).

Transferring your data to a PC

You can easily transfer data from the Diver-Pocket to Diver-Office by selecting the Import > Field Device menu option in Diver-Office. Alternatively, simply connect your PC to the PocketPC and use Microsoft ActiveSync to copy the data.

CTD-Diver Calibration

Ensure accuracy and reliability. Diver-Pocket features the ability to calibrate the ceramic CTD-Divers as well as retrieve the calibration history from the CTD-Diver. This feature is useful for monitoring changes in calibration over time which may aid in explaining significant variations or anomalies in data.

Export Formats

  • DAT – A binary format exported with every Diver download
  • MON – An ASCII file format supported by SWS software
  • CSV – Comma Separated Values format, compatible with Microsoft Excel
