Pumping and Slug Test Solutions

  • Horizontal Wells: Expand your pumping test applications by analyzing data captured from horizontal pumping wells. Based on Clonts and Ramey (1986)
  • Well Skin Effects and Well Bore Storage: Improve the accuracy of your analysis by accounting for well skin effects and well bore storage in pumping wells using the Agarwal (1970) solution
  • Expand your slug tests: Analyze slug tests in high conductivity formations that exhibit inertial effects and oscillatory response - Butler (2000)
  • Improved Neuman analysis is more than 90 times faster than the previous implementation

Performance Enhancements

  • Improve Quality: Generate a statistical scatter plot showing the quality of the curve fit, represented as observed vs. calculated drawdown, and include this in reports
  • More Flexibility and Greater Control: Using your mouse to do manual curve fitting provides more flexibility and improved accuracy
  • Increase Convenience: With a single mouse click display the complete family of type curves for Neuman and Hantush analysis for easier type-curve matching

  • Hantush Bierschenk (1964) - Step drawdown test and analysis of well losses with two options:
    • Analyze discharge-water level data for step tests, where steady-state is reached
    • Enter the time-discharge data and time-water level data, and extrapolate discharge-water levels for step tests, where flow is at an unsteady-state
  • Moench Fracture flow (1984) - Analysis of fractured aquifers with a fractured skin
    • Select from Transient or Pseudo-steady state Block to fissure flow model
    • Select sphere or slab block geometry
  • Hantush Bierschenk (1960) - Leaky aquifer, unsteady-state flow and accounts for storage changes

USING AQUIFERTEST


AquiferTest Pro has a fresh new GUI design that consolidates the features available and improves the navigation through the program. A logical selection and arrangement of quick launch tabs afford users easy access to the main components of the software.

The AquiferTest Pro graphical user interface has five main tabs:

Pumping Test
The starting point for entering your project info, selecting standard units, managing pumping test information, aquifer properties, and creating/editing wells.
Discharge
Used to enter your constant or variable discharge data for one or more pumping wells.
Water Levels

Where you enter data from time/drawdown observation wells.

Add barometric or trend correction factors to compensate for known variations in barometric pressure or water levels in your pumping or observation wells.

Analysis
View drawdown derivative data values and derivatives of type curves on analysis graphs for manual or automatic curve fitting and parameter calculations.
Reports
Create professional looking output using a number of pre-defined report templates.
